Gastroenterology: As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Rausher diagnoses and treats individuals struggling with problems of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, commonly known as the digestive system. Treating conditions such as Crohn's disease or gastroesophageal reflux disease, Dr. Rausher is additionally well versed in the effects of diet & nutrition, and their relationship with your general well-being.
Hepatology: As a hepatologist in Decatur, Dr. Rausher is trained to treat patients suffering from diseases and conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and related structures. Dr. Rausher may treat a range of diseases, including pancreatitis, cirrhosis, hepatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and some types of cancer. Hepatologists may focus on preventive care, helping patients make better lifestyle choices to reduce the likelihood of contracting a liver condition.
Internal Medicine: As a result of his prior training in internal medicine, Dr. Rausher specializes in diagnosing and treating cross-system illnesses that may affect multiple organ systems. When necessary, Dr. Rausher can also refer patients to specialist physicians when medically needed. As an example, patients can be referred as appropriate when a liver transplant is indicated.
